Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting and have 7+ years of experience in a revenue accounting role within a technology or software company, including team management. A CPA qualification is required, along with strong technical revenue accounting knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 606. Proficiency in advanced Excel for analyzing large datasets and experience reviewing SaaS and Professional Services contracts are essential. Bonus skills include Big 4 accounting firm experience and familiarity with Stripe, Netsuite ARM, Klarity, and Salesforce.
This role involves partnering with Enterprise Sales, GTM teams, Deal Desk, Legal, and Billing engineering to provide technical revenue accounting guidance for enterprise revenue deals. Responsibilities include proactively offering revenue accounting results and policy guidance on complex transactions, leading and improving processes for accounting revenue from partnerships and professional services, and ensuring new products or changes are appropriately set up in revenue accounting systems. The position also requires completing second-level reviews of non-standard contracts, documenting accounting conclusions, preparing technical accounting memos and policies, developing scalable revenue accounting processes for enterprise agreements, identifying and mitigating revenue recognition risks, supporting external audits, and improving internal controls over revenue processes.
