Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with an MBA/MS from a top-tier university strongly preferred, and a minimum of 6 years of experience in strategy, consulting, VC/PE, or investment banking, along with hardware industry experience, particularly in semiconductors, energy, or medtech. Proven leadership experience in corporate planning and growth initiatives is required, as well as self-motivation, a results-driven approach, and adaptability to fast-paced environments, and experience with industries related to advanced compute, energy/decarbonization, and medtech.

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy will drive initiatives to uncover new market opportunities for Western Digital (WD) both within and outside of HDDs, involving driving internal processes to incubate new product ideas and developing external partnerships to build WD’s next new business opportunity. This includes running deepdives on deeptech sectors to identify and incubate new business opportunities, designing go-to-market strategies for new business opportunities, collaborating with Sales and Platforms to unlock new HDD opportunities with non-hyperscale customers, assisting in the organization of WD’s internal start-up process, partnering with the CTO-office and Corporate Development team to build out WD’s multiplier network of universities, national labs, and venture capital funds, and supporting Corporate Development team with deal sourcing and evaluation of non-data storage investments.
