Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with at least 10 years of production-level experience as an engineer and technical lead in building highly scalable and reliable software. Candidates must also have 5+ years of managerial experience in building and leading technical engineering teams, with preferred experience in attracting, hiring, and coaching engineers, managing performance, taking ownership of technology decisions while delegating, communicating analysis to diverse audiences, and strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

The Senior Engineering Manager will lead a team of individual contributors in developing technology, build a high-performing team by hiring and nurturing engineering talent, and provide strong technical leadership by driving technical solutioning and building roadmaps. They will set clear goals, remove roadblocks for the team, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to achieve business outcomes, and work closely with engineering leaders to drive engineering excellence. Responsibilities also include establishing team goals and technical priorities aligned with organizational objectives, translating technical components into business outcomes, and leading, mentoring, and growing a team focused on ingesting and processing clinical data using Databricks, while driving adoption of best practices in data pipeline design, scalability, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
