Candidates must possess a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, along with a minimum of four years of backend engineering experience. They should have experience solving distributed systems challenges, demonstrating the ability to assess, design, and implement scalable solutions, and possess expertise in a common programming language, preferably C# or Go. Furthermore, candidates should be able to serve as a component owner for software with a large user base, focusing on maintainability and high reliability, and demonstrate familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
The Lead Backend Engineer will work closely with other engineers to implement support for new and improved game features and systems, build backend services, deploy them to Kubernetes, and monitor the results. They will also scale services to support millions of concurrent players, and have the opportunity to work on various aspects of the technology stack, infrastructure, and backend services.
