Requirements

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, BigQuery, and at least one traditional RDBMS like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for partnering with product, business, and commercial stakeholders. Experience supporting or integrating with paid advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, or Amazon, along with an understanding of advertising data structures, is required. Strong problem-solving abilities to translate business requirements into technical solutions and prior leadership experience managing or mentoring a team of engineers are also necessary. Familiarity with the paid advertising ecosystem and knowledge of retailer commerce operations are considered strong pluses.

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Data Engineering will lead the design, development, and optimization of data solutions across Snowflake, BigQuery, and traditional relational databases. They will collaborate with product managers, commercial teams, and external clients to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable data solutions, ensuring best practices for data pipeline design, performance, and scalability, including cost-optimization strategies. This role involves partnering with AI/algorithm research and engineering teams for data infrastructure support, contributing to data strategy execution, and producing high-quality documentation. Additionally, the manager will lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, setting expectations, fostering accountability, and supporting professional growth while driving high-quality execution.
