Requirements

Candidates should have 8+ years of software engineering experience, including full-stack development, and proven experience managing or leading engineering teams. Expert knowledge of Python/Django in production environments is required, along with experience building web and mobile applications. A strong understanding of backend systems, REST APIs, data models, and security is necessary. Experience working within regulated environments, familiarity with formal SDLC practices and documentation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and fluency in English are also required. Prior entrepreneurial experience or experience in a startup environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Senior Engineering Manager will lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team of backend and frontend developers. They will drive technical architecture, implementation strategy, and code quality across the stack, and oversee project execution, sprint planning, and continuous delivery within a regulated SDLC. Responsibilities include promoting engineering best practices, collaborating with product managers and QA leads, guiding the team through architectural decisions, contributing hands-on when needed, and supporting hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
