A minimum of 10 years of engineering leadership experience, ideally within logistics, warehouse automation, supply chain infrastructure, or industrial design/construction, is required. Proven experience in overseeing large-scale capital projects encompassing site development, construction, and automation, along with a strong track record of building and scaling engineering teams, is essential. Deep knowledge of automation systems and facility design principles, coupled with excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills, is necessary to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
The Director of Engineering will build and lead high-performing teams across facility design, construction management, site planning, and automation engineering, establishing internal engineering best practices and culture to support scalable growth. They will oversee the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for new fulfillment center development, from site evaluation and layout to automation implementation and construction execution, ensuring alignment between long-term operational goals and engineering execution. The role involves partnering with automation vendors to evaluate, select, and implement next-generation solutions, staying abreast of technology trends, and managing relationships with external engineering and automation partners to ensure performance, cost efficiency, and adherence to timelines. Additionally, the Director will collaborate closely with operations, product, and executive leadership to align engineering initiatives with the company's long-term growth strategy and identify opportunities for network improvement.
