Requirements

Candidates should have 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, ideally across backend systems. Deep technical expertise in cloud architecture, backend systems, and modern development practices is essential. Domain experience in payments platforms, particularly Stripe, ACH, and card network integration, is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead with empathy and conviction are also required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineering Manager will lead and grow a distributed engineering team of 11+ engineers across time zones, driving accountability and results. They will drive execution across software projects including payments systems, platform services, and user-facing applications, and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data, and Business stakeholders to define strategy and execution plans. Responsibilities include setting and upholding high engineering standards through code reviews and technical design guidance, designing and scaling distributed, cloud-native systems, fostering a strong engineering culture, owning the hiring process for the team, and mentoring engineers and managers through career development plans.
