Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with extensive experience in designing, building, and maintaining data ETL pipelines. A strong command of Python or Scala for data processing, experience with Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala), and proficiency in the AWS technology stack (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR) are essential. Experience in a professional software environment utilizing source control (git), issue tracking (JIRA, Confluence), continuous integration, code reviews, and agile development processes (Scrum/Lean) is necessary, along with a foundational understanding of data privacy and security principles. A proactive mindset towards exploring emerging technologies in AI and data science for innovation, and an interest or experience in AI/ML applications, including support for model development or deployment workflows, are also required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer will ingest, transform, and warehouse healthcare-related data from various sources. They will collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Machine Learning Engineers to produce quality data flows and transformations that support advanced analytics and AI/ML model development. Responsibilities include developing tools and solutions for data integration, data warehousing, and data modeling, as well as optimizing data infrastructure and processes for performance and scalability. The role also involves collaborating with Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Analysts to ensure efficient data processing and analysis, developing and maintaining data documentation and data lineage, and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering.
