Requirements
The candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Cloud Architect, with significant expertise in OpenStack and CEPH. Proven hands-on experience with OpenStack services like Nova, Neutron, Glance, Cinder, and Keystone is essential, along with practical experience deploying and maintaining CEPH storage solutions in production environments. A strong understanding of virtualization, networking, and secure infrastructure design is required, as well as experience with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform. An active Secret clearance is mandatory, and the candidate must be available to start by October 1st, 2025. Familiarity with container platforms like Kubernetes or Docker and prior experience with Shared Services Canada or other Government of Canada departments are considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
The Cloud Architect will lead the design and implementation of secure, enterprise-grade OpenStack cloud environments and architect and manage CEPH storage clusters for high availability, scalability, and performance. Responsibilities include aligning cloud solutions with SSC’s security and compliance standards, collaborating with SSC teams on cloud automation, orchestration, and monitoring, and producing technical documentation such as architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and deployment plans. The role also involves providing expert guidance on cloud operations, optimization, and cost management best practices.
