Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role. Strong technical skills, ideally from software development experience or pre-sales experience, are required, alongside familiarity with web performance, Lighthouse, or Core Web Vitals. Understanding of network architecture and security best practices is also necessary, as is awareness of broader technical ecosystems like Headless CMS, Media, payments, eCommerce, Analytics, and experience with Next.js deployments. Bonus points for Cloud Solutions Architect Certifications, experience with Kubernetes (k8s) clusters, and engagement with platform security & privacy regulatory standards like PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2.

Responsibilities

The Sales Engineer will provide technical support to prospects, customers, and the sales team throughout the entire sales cycle, offering expertise in Vercel's platform, solutions, and services. They will develop and present demonstrations of Vercel solutions, manage and run proofs of concept, coordinate with security teams, and serve as an interface between Product and Engineering teams, representing the Voice of the Customer. Additionally, they will advocate for the ongoing enhancement of the Vercel platform and work hand-in-hand with Solutions Engineering and Customer Success to ensure the technical needs of enterprise customers are surfaced and addressed in future roadmap planning.
