Position Overview

TetraScience is seeking a visionary technical leader to own the platform architecture and technical strategy. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and executive leadership to align product strategy and execution with the overall architectural plan. You will lead a small team of architects, guiding architectural decisions and partnering with the engineering team on implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Own the platform architecture.
  • Support and advise product and engineering leadership on technical and architectural feasibility, implications, readiness, security, and compliance.
  • Provide key inputs into technology evaluation and planning activities.
  • Drive architecture discussions with partners such as Google, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Communicate the architecture effectively to engineering and product teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train team members on design techniques, systems architecture, and coding standards.
  • Drive innovations to improve the scalability, availability, resiliency, and performance of services and products.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and forge key relationships with industry peers.
  • Provide thought leadership and represent TetraScience at industry and technology conferences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing and building highly scalable data platforms.
  • Significant experience with AWS, Services-Architecture, and web-scale design patterns.
  • Proven track record of success in developing product strategy within a start-up environment.
  • Hands-on experience building data platforms.
  • Experience with ETL, data integration, data pipelines, and lake house architectures.
  • Extremely curious character with a strong drive for achievement.
  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Google, or Azure is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
