Company Description

NielsenIQ is seeking a talented Sales Development Representative (SDR) to manage, develop, and grow qualified lead volume and sales pipeline for our Emerging Brands team. This role is often the first touchpoint for prospects interested in NielsenIQ solutions and will set the tone for the sales cycle. Professionalism, enthusiasm, and excellent communication are key characteristics for success. The ideal candidate will be a highly energized self-starter who can thrive working autonomously while also being skilled at building solid working relationships with cross-functional team members and sales stakeholders.

Note: This is a US role, and candidates must be in the US at the time of application.


Position Overview

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will be responsible for:

  • Qualifying inbound inquiries to determine sales readiness.
  • Outbound prospecting via email, social media, and phone into target accounts to schedule initial meetings for sales representatives.
  • Supporting in-person and virtual events through pre- and post-event outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously learn and develop into an industry and NielsenIQ solutions expert.
  • Effectively pitch products and solutions to key decision-makers, understanding their needs and demonstrating how NielsenIQ solutions can meet them.
  • Respond to and effectively qualify inbound inquiries in a timely manner to assess sales readiness before connecting prospects with sales resources.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting activities (calls, emails, social media, tradeshows) into target markets/accounts to identify, connect with, and engage decision-makers, generating qualified, sales-ready leads.
  • Support marketing-sponsored events, including pre-event promotion and post-event follow-up to engage and qualify prospects.
  • Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly activity cadence plans to maximize prospecting efficiency and effectiveness, including account/contact research, pre-call planning, and hyper-personalized messaging.
  • Meet and exceed key activity and performance metrics (calls, emails, social touches, appointments scheduled, conversion to opportunity, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of all lead and prospecting activities, adhering to defined lead management processes and SLAs.
  • Build relationships with aligned sales team members to nurture leads through the opportunity pipeline and ensure lead quality drives conversion to pipeline and revenue.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree.
  • 1-3 years of SaaS sales development experience (cold outreach, lead qualification).
  • Prior experience working with emerging brands is preferred.
  • Professional experience in a customer-focused, performance-driven, high-growth, fast-paced sales, service, or marketing team.
  • Experience and/or interest in CPG or selling an innovative/niche tool.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to identify and reach desired outcomes while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile, and derive actionable insights.

Location Details

  • In office: 1-2 days/week at 200 W. Jackson, Chicago.
  • Remote: This is a remote position with hybrid requirements.
