About the Job

The Sales Development Representative will play a key role in expanding Twilio's reach and impact. The team is collaborative, driven, and committed to achieving exceptional results. We are looking for individuals with a growth mindset eager to advance their careers within Segment and Twilio.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Lead Qualification: Research and identify prospective customers, determining how Segment can provide value and qualifying leads through outbound calls, personalized emails, and social selling techniques.
  • Market Penetration: Break into new companies and markets by engaging prospects through a multi-channel, value-based approach to build relationships and increase brand awareness.
  • Pipeline Generation: Consistently achieve and exceed monthly goals for generating business opportunities to fuel the sales pipeline.
  • Reporting and Tools: Prepare activity and forecast reports, becoming proficient in using Salesforce, Outreach, and Sales Navigator.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Account Executives to develop account strategies, territory plans, and successfully close new business opportunities.
  • Onboarding and Training: Participate in Segment’s SDR Onboarding Program to receive essential training and insights for effectively engaging with prospects.

Required:

  • 1+ year of customer-facing experience.
  • Goal-oriented with a proactive approach to achieving targets.
  • Strong direct sales skills and a proven track record of success in creative, strategic outreach via personalized emails, phone calls, and videos.
  • Adaptability and comfort with rapid change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enjoyment of variety and dynamic workdays, embracing creativity and personalization.
  • Demonstrated resilience in navigating and overcoming challenges.
  • A collaborative spirit and a passion for working effectively with Account Executives.

Desired:

  • Experience in software sales or a strong affinity for technology and data.

Location

  • Remote: This position is fully remote.
  • Exclusions: Not eligible for hire in CA, CT, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OR, Penn, RI, TX, VA, WA, or Washington DC.

Travel

  • Approximately 5% travel is anticipated.
