Responsibilities

  • Model CVS Health values, purpose, and best practices while working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful patient counseling, and ensuring safe dispensing
  • Support the Pharmacy Manager by exhibiting best practices, overseeing the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts without overlap, and providing feedback on team performance
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Strengthen pharmacy performance through effective coaching, consistent follow-up of team members, and improving measures
  • Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance/medication issues
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, and engage/support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching team on best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
  • Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and take on increasing accountability for management, oversight, and operation of all pharmacy aspects as readiness increases
