OpenX, the world's largest people-based advertising exchange, is looking for a Regional Vice President to join our US Buyer Development team. This role is crucial for expanding OpenX's business with independent ad agencies during a period of significant company growth.

Reporting to the VP of Sales, the RVP will lead a team focused on driving new revenue and enhancing client relationships to increase market share. This individual will oversee all national team operations, responsible for growth and service through leadership of Account Management and Sales teams. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader capable of fostering a synergistic culture and balancing internal and external responsibilities.

This key position offers a unique opportunity to influence the company's strategic direction, solidify OpenX's position as a leading identity-focused SSP, and manage high-value client relationships. Success requires a passion for programmatic advertising, strong connections with programmatic advertising decision-makers, proficiency in managing sales cycles, and expertise in negotiating and closing programmatic deals. A consultative sales mindset and the ability to excel in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, achieving revenue and MBO-based goals, are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Sellers and Account Managers to grow revenue within their assigned territories/portfolios.
  • Act as a business owner for the team's portfolio, understanding performance, client engagement, pipeline, and revenue, and providing regular updates.
  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of OpenX's products, the OpenX pitch, and programmatic decision-making processes for all assigned accounts.
  • Grow and expand existing senior-level partnerships and associated revenue.
  • Significantly expand the OpenX client roster through a strategic approach to outer markets.
  • Further entrench OpenX as a trusted partner in the programmatic space, building long-term, revenue-generating client relationships.
  • Establish OpenX as a market leader in programmatic audience and identity solutions.
  • Contribute to growing OpenX's reputation for programmatic education, thought leadership, and technology.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver OpenX's programmatic and identity-based solutions to clients.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in online advertising (programmatic buying, account management, sales, etc.).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, managing revenue-focused sales or business development teams.
  • Solid relationships across independent agencies.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with experience managing multiple projects to tight deadlines.
  • Clear understanding of SSPs/exchanges and programmatic buying fundamentals.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • Deep familiarity with ad tech, SSPs, and DSPs.
