The Account Executive (Lead Project Manager) is responsible for the successful execution of assigned accounts, often larger and more complex projects. This role involves customer coordination for design definition, value engineering, internal communication, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and ongoing customer service. The Account Executive will lead and coordinate all project-related activities and identify opportunities for business growth within assigned accounts.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in Account Management within wood and/or metal manufacturing, preferably in the consumer environments industry (retail store fixture).
  • 10+ years of experience leading, managing, and motivating a project management team within a large manufacturing company.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain spreadsheets using MS Office Programs (Word and Excel).
  • Understanding of ERP fundamentals.
  • Expertise in Architectural/Interior Design technical knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently while multitasking.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a team player mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Grow customer account value through strategic business planning and interface with management and sales as defined in the SAA.
  • Achieve new account growth through excellent customer service and account execution.
  • Define, build, and train the account team for excellence.
  • Procure complete project definitions and clearly communicate customer expectations to the support team at the division.
  • Review strategic Value Engineering opportunities with customers for mutually beneficial cost savings.
  • Ensure products are engineered to customer specifications.
  • Develop or manage the development of a project timeline for every project.
  • Coordinate with the Master Scheduler to develop a “project launch cycle,” monitor progress, and develop corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Department to ensure on-time/on-budget material procurement.
  • Participate in prototype development and review processes.
  • Monitor product production through physical review of work in progress and review of labor and costing report data, aiding in corrective actions.
  • Lead Gross Margin Improvement Initiatives for related projects to drive cost savings, price increases, and value engineering.
  • Provide shipping instructions, including verification of site off-load conditions where applicable.
  • Facilitate and assist in the completion and review of customer inventory reports.
  • Monitor and manage customer inventory to reduce the risk of obsolescence.
  • Facilitate outsourcing of production and services as production capacity requires.
  • Provide technical backup to Sales and Estimating as required.
  • Visit manufacturing locations to review new products before primary manufacturing and shipments.
  • Provide monthly Sales Forecasts for assigned customer(s), with assistance from Sales where applicable.
  • Perform postmortems on successful and unsuccessful projects to identify root cause issues and opportunities for future improvement.
  • Manage cost of quality impact and establish root causes for future COQ reduction.
