Product Manager

Position Overview

Energy Solutions is seeking a full-time Product Manager to join our Business Strategy Team. This role is crucial for driving product development and management within our practice areas, including Distributed Energy Resources, Energy Efficiency, Decarbonization, and Energy Codes & Standards. You will be instrumental in developing new products and services and refining existing ones to ensure their market competitiveness and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide product management leadership for departments, focusing on evaluating, developing, scaling, and managing products for utility clients.
  • Lead new product development efforts using a stage-gate process, producing key deliverables for each stage.
  • Modify and update existing products based on market feedback, client input, business strategy team insights, and the opportunity pipeline.
  • Conduct market research to understand drivers, trends, and capabilities necessary to create products that meet market needs (product-market-fit).
  • Perform Voice of Customer (Customer Discovery) activities to understand market states and client needs, informing product development.
  • Create high-level business requirements for product features and functionality in collaboration with practice area leadership and the software development team.
  • Support business development efforts for Minimum Viable Product (MVP)-driven pilots and work with the marketing team to generate and update product collateral.
  • Prioritize product development needs, own product roadmaps, and coordinate with stakeholders to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams to socialize, launch, and test new services with existing and new clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related, STEM, or environmental discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a related role.
  • Experience in product management, including the development and delivery of a long-term product vision.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct market research, competitive analysis, and voice of customer outreach.
  • Direct project management experience, including partnership management and program design development.
  • Intermediate experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively within multiple teams and balance parallel workstreams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on core product management activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the energy or utility field, specifically in Demand Side Management, working on midstream/upstream incentive programs or related areas.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $93,000 - $115,000 Annually (commensurate with experience)
