Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in SRE/DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure and 4+ years of experience building and operating high-scale networking or edge infrastructure. Strong experience with HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS certificate management, CDN internals, load balancing, and global routing is required, along with proficiency in traffic proxies like Envoy or NGINX. Experience designing systems for high availability, failover, and real-time observability, strong software engineering skills in Go, and robust debugging skills across distributed systems are essential. Knowledge of IPv6, BGP, Anycast, or advanced routing protocols, experience managing large deployments on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and comfort with cloud networking primitives are necessary. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Pulumi, and experience with on-call rotations for large production systems are also required.

Responsibilities

The Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate systems for the network perimeter, including API gateway, routing, load balancing, DNS, and global traffic distribution. Responsibilities include building and maintaining the Supabase Cloud offering, designing and implementing the global edge router platform, and creating programmable, API-driven routing logic to steer customer traffic. The role involves working with DNS, WAF, IP networking, TLS termination, CDN integrations, and global load balancing, as well as implementing advanced observability for metrics, logs, latency, and traffic health. The engineer will optimize routing performance, collaborate with other teams to integrate networking solutions, improve system architecture for cost, security, reliability, and performance, and design CI/CD systems for faster deployments. Additionally, the role includes participating in on-call rotations, incident response, post-incident reviews, and resolving escalated support issues.
