Candidates should have 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years focused in employee relations. Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations, with multi-state experience preferred, is required. Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations and managing complex employee issues is essential, along with exceptional interpersonal skills, strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills. Experience administering leaves of absence, accommodations, and related compliance matters, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism, resilience, and attention to detail are necessary. Bonus points are awarded for prior paralegal or counsel experience, work in fast-paced tech or startup environments, experience supporting a distributed workforce, and a track record of building ER frameworks, policies, or playbooks from the ground up.
The People Operations Manager will manage sensitive employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, performance and non-performance-related exits, policy compliance, and leave administration. They will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, ensuring fair processes, consistent policy application, and alignment with legal requirements. Responsibilities include providing guidance to leaders on handling employee concerns, leading and conducting workplace investigations, partnering with managers on performance management and separations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The role also involves managing leave of absence programs, identifying trends to recommend improvements, collaborating with Legal and People Operations partners, and maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion.
