Position Overview

As a People Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in building and growing our team, owning critical people processes across the employee lifecycle, and serving as a strategic partner to stakeholders. Your work will ensure clarity, consistency, and care in employee experiences while upholding HR compliance and operational excellence. You will also be the internal subject matter expert on HR compliance and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process Creation and Optimization: Design and implement simple, scalable HR processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, usability, and consistency throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Serve as the People Operations subject matter expert (SME) on projects such as EOR strategy, Rippling data integrity, and SOC2 readiness, providing both strategic input and operational rigor.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage day-to-day employee lifecycle operations, including benefits administration, immigration, and Employer of Record (EOR) support.
  • HR Compliance: Conduct internal HR audits, proactively identify risks, and develop/implement policies and procedures that comply with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Systems & Tools: Oversee the daily administration of HR systems and employee files, ensuring clean, organized, and accessible data and documentation storage.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in HR with a strong foundation in operations and compliance.
  • Proven ability to design and improve simple, efficient, and user-friendly processes, with an emphasis on AI and automation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the capacity to lead and manage multiple cross-functional projects autonomously and navigate ambiguity.
  • Experience leading HR compliance audits and developing/implementing HR policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • A blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a passion for building and implementing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-growth, tech start-up environments.
  • Experience in early or mid-stage startups, thriving in ambiguous and fast-changing settings.
