The candidate should have 2 years of experience in HR compliance, operations, or a similar role. Experience with HR tech tools and HRIS systems such as Go1, Confluence, Rippling, or Enboarder is required. Familiarity with background check procedures, HRIS platforms, and onboarding processes is necessary. The role also requires strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, good judgment for escalating concerns, comfort with confidential and sensitive data, experience liaising with multiple departments, excellent communication and time-management skills, and a collaborative mindset. Preferred qualifications include experience with new hire onboarding, maintaining EOR vendor relationships, exposure to multi-state HR compliance, and knowledge of high-risk role frameworks.
The HR Compliance Assistant will review and manage background check results for new hires and escalations, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation. They will own and manage the annual background check process, coordinating with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders, and maintain and audit high-risk role classifications. The assistant will partner with Recruiting, People Operations, and People Programs to ensure pre-boarding tasks are completed and support smooth onboarding experiences through compliance checks. Responsibilities also include maintaining and auditing electronic employee files during transitions, monitoring new state registrations for workers’ compensation, conducting routine sweeps of Confluence content for accuracy, and providing support for People platforms. The role involves auditing employee Social Security numbers and data changes across multiple platforms for accuracy and omissions, coordinating the posting and updating of labor law posters, and assisting with internal audits and compliance reviews such as I-9, wage/hour, and documentation.
