Requirements

Candidates should possess 2–4 years of experience in payroll and/or benefits administration, with proven experience processing payroll across both Canada and the U.S. Familiarity with tools such as Humi, Gusto, Paychex, Rippling, Hibob is considered an asset, and a PCP/CPM or similar certification (Canada) is preferred. Knowledge of employment standards, tax regulations, and benefits compliance is essential, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

As a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll and employee tax forms accurately and compliantly in both Canada and the U.S., managing all benefits administration including health, dental, vision, RRSP and 401(k), leave programs, and more, owning employee lifecycle payroll changes, serving as the go-to contact for employee questions about pay and benefits, partnering with Finance to reconcile payroll reports and support audits, ensuring compliance with provincial/state and federal regulations, supporting benefits renewals and system improvements, maintaining confidential records, and driving process documentation. Additionally, you will support the Head of PEE on culture and employee experience initiatives.
