Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma
At least one year of related work experience
Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire
Minimum of three years driving history
Valid Driver’s license
Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program
Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A., and Joint Commission regulations
Basic computer skills
English language skills (reading, writing, verbal)
Basic math skills
Skills in business acumen, problem solving/analysis, communication proficiency, and personal effectiveness/credibility
Ability to perform physical demands, including using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reaching with hands and arms
Responsibilities
Deliver and pick up equipment from homecare patients
Set up equipment and instruct patients on the basic use of equipment
Assist patients in solving problems regarding equipment use
Schedule and organize daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory
Load and unload durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies onto delivery vehicle
Comply with all applicable regulatory requirements, including providing documents for the driver qualification file and abiding by hours of service, daily log, hazardous materials, and vehicle inspection and maintenance regulations
Complete necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs; distribute paperwork to appropriate personnel
Notify supervisor of issues discovered in the patient’s home, such as physical abuse, unsafe home environment, unsanitary conditions due to animals, or insufficient food for children
Maintain daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports
Ensure vehicles are in proper working condition and preventive maintenance is performed on a timely basis according to D.O.T., F.D.A., and Joint Commission
Respond to emergency delivery calls as needed and on an on-call basis
Clean and assist with the repair of equipment
Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including checking gasoline, oil, fluids, tire pressure, and brakes; report malfunctions to supervisor
Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor
