Position Overview

The Operations Manager is a key member of the Store Management team, responsible for driving store execution and performance and building consumer loyalty through excellent customer service. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the Operations Manager will lead and develop an engaged, productive store team by demonstrating initiative and leading by example.

Key Responsibilities

The Operations Manager supports the Store Manager in the total leadership and strategic operation of a CVS/pharmacy store, including:

  • Overall Store Management: Supervision and policy implementation.
  • Sales and Inventory Management: Driving sales and managing inventory effectively.
  • Employee Staffing, Training, and Development: Leading and developing the store team.
  • Financial Management: Contributing to the store's financial performance.
  • Customer Service Leadership: Promoting a culture of excellent customer service.

Note: This position is not part of the CVS/pharmacy Retail Management Development Program. Operations Managers are not eligible for direct promotion to Store Manager. Candidates seeking to become a CVS Store Manager should apply for Store Manager in Training openings.

Essential Functions

Management

  • Lead others and work effectively with store crews.
  • Supervise, assign, and direct the activities of the store's crew.
  • Effectively communicate information to store crew and supervisors in an open and timely manner.
  • Support the Store Manager with action plans for operational and service improvement.

Customer Service

  • Assist customers with their questions, problems, and complaints.
  • Promote the CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, and thank).

Requirements

  • Deductive reasoning ability.
  • Advanced analytical skills and computer skills.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Leadership, supervision, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including some early morning, overnight, and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and respond to urgent issues at the store when they arise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a retail manager or supervisor.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Pay and Benefits

  • Pay Range: $17.00 - $29.00 per hour.
    • Note: This pay range represents the base hourly rate. The actual offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, and location.
