Candidates should have 5+ years of experience as a Network Automation Engineer, with at least 2 years of experience with networking device configurations from vendors like Juniper, Arista, or Cisco. A strong foundation in network transport and routing protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, and BGP is essential. The role requires solid experience with Linux administration and scripting, as well as experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Solarwinds) and CI/CD pipeline development and management (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab runners, Azure DevOps). Proficiency in programming languages like Python and Go is also a requirement.
The Network Automation Engineer will develop and maintain tooling, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines for managing Zoom's data center networks, utilizing infrastructure as code frameworks for network and monitoring configurations. This role involves partnering with network and data center engineers to implement new system features and changes, developing metrics and dashboards to monitor network and automation tool health, and assisting in the design of frameworks for inventory, monitoring, and configuration management. Responsibilities also include identifying and troubleshooting system and tooling failures to ensure network reliability and participating in an on-call rotation.
