Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience required
  • Five (5) years of outside sales experience, preferably in the waste/recycling industry
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50-60%)
  • High degree of concentration and attention to detail for forecasting, quotations, and customer interactions
  • Proficiency with Salesforce for forecasting, quoting, opportunities, market trends, and competition tracking
  • Strong ethics and work standards, maintaining professionalism with internal and external customers
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including reports in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, supporting organizational goals
  • Ability to identify improvements, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure efficient work practices
  • Familiarity with and compliance to Marathon Equipment Company rules and Code of Ethics

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow National Account waste generator customer base, focusing on large multi-facility logistics, fulfillment centers, and large retail companies
  • Grow sales and market share in retail sectors, including grocery stores, C-stores, sporting goods stores, and logistic centers
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Parts/Service to design and promote turnkey PM, warranty, and service programs
  • Sell Connected asset management equipment packages, including installation and service/maintenance agreements
  • Participate in product development, including VOC activities, managing pre-production prototypes, and production trial runs
  • Collect, examine, and execute all RFP opportunities
  • Use Salesforce to forecast, quote, track opportunities, market trends, and competition; follow up on distribution inquiries, sales leads, quotations, and bids
  • Plan appointments, manage time effectively, and arrange travel
  • Ensure Dealers and RSMs support efforts in their assigned areas of responsibility (AOR)
  • Report on sales, expenses, territory plans, and direct reports using written and verbal communication
  • Support Credit/Warranty departments with collections, repairs, and installations as needed
  • Study markets to monitor competition, trends, product needs, and growth patterns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
