Position Overview

  • Salary: $30.00 - $39.00 per hour (OT available)

World Fuel Services is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic II to maintain and service all company vehicles. This role involves scheduling and performing tank-testing jobs, ensuring compliance with regulations. The Mechanic will also work on meters, perform performance maintenance on trucks, and handle various other tasks within the shop. The position includes a company truck for commuting and work within the Tacoma, WA area.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Fleet Maintenance experience.
  • Preferred: Class A or Class B CDL, Hazmat, Tanker, and Tank Testing permits.

Responsibilities

  • Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
  • Consult with clients to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems.
  • Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform clients of any issues.
  • Keep an accurate log of all work performed.
  • Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools.
  • Adhere to company work safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Schedule and perform tank tests.
  • Work on various meters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements

  • Within the assigned regional location.
  • Local Trips.
  • Trips for support to Shops and Vendors within their respective Region.
  • Low travel frequency; some nights out may be required as needed.

Key Performance Measures

  • Complete Preventative Maintenance and Repairs in a timely manner and operate within budget.
  • Ensure efficient Prevention Maintenance utilization and performance.
  • Implementing Safety procedures and Initiatives.
  • Safety performance of the Fleet within the Region.

Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required

  • Mechanical and Vehicle Maintenance Skills.
  • Conduct Vehicle DVIR Review, Procedures and Safety Inspections.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field’s concepts and principles.
  • Expertise in Transport, Tank Wagon, and Vehicle systems.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and Teams; and PlanetFM.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience is required.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with mechanical and/or Fleet Maintenance support and service.
