Baker Hughes' Gas Technology team is seeking Aeroderivative Turbines Mechanical Field Service Engineers to join their global field team. This role involves being the primary on-site contact for customers, responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of Aeroderivative Turbines. Tasks include borescope inspections, blade work, combustion/hot section replacements, and engine swaps.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or program completion.
  • 4+ years of experience as a mechanical technician on aircraft engines, aero-derivative engines, or other gas turbine technology.
  • Good mechanical and technical skills.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the installation and maintenance of rotating equipment, including:
    • Bolting
    • Hydraulic Bolting
    • Flange Management
    • Small Bore Piping
  • Experience in a mechanical role within the energy or oil and gas industry (or similar).
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with experience guiding customers through decisions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Deep awareness of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance and potential risks.
  • Motivated self-starter capable of making key decisions and innovating solutions.
  • Availability to travel 70% of the time, both domestically and globally.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction for site activities to internal teams and skilled labor, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Perform mechanical and hydraulic maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts as directed.
  • Execute hands-on job duties on-site, including coordinating subcontractors and communicating with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and hydraulic problems on variable pitch/variable speed turbines.
  • Oversee, overhaul, troubleshoot, and commission Aeroderivative products at customer sites.
  • Lead customer and contractor meetings to update action plans and advise on technical solutions.
  • Ensure internal training, compliance, and quality documentation are updated, followed, and completed according to company standards.
  • Ensure all in-field activities are carried out safely, complying with company HSE guidelines and procedures.
