Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience (Engineering Degree preferred, MBA a plus)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with 3+ years in supervision
  • 5 years’ experience in an Engineered to Order Business
  • Sound knowledge of problem-solving methods, lean manufacturing, just-in-time delivery principles, and capacity requirements planning (CRP)
  • Skills in mapping processes, time studies, routings, and material flow
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong general management, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and management communication skills
  • Ability to analyze issues systematically and recommend practical solutions using innovation, good judgment, creativity, and strategic thinking
  • Problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task, and sense of urgency
  • Project engineering or project management leadership skills
  • Team oriented and self-starter
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

  • Provide planning, direction, and supervision within assigned area and coordinate processes impacting material deliveries, data integrity, and supply chain processes
  • Lead 3-5 Supervisors, Team Leaders, and up to 50 Team Members in a multi-shift, high-mix, configured-to-order production environment
  • Own and drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance; develop Continuous Improvement culture using Lean thinking aligned with business strategy
  • Champion “Team Members own Safety” culture
  • Train and execute root cause problem solving with supervisors and cross-functional teams
  • Coordinate, maintain, communicate, and drive the schedule to ensure on-time material delivery to production cells
  • Manage schedule throughout the day for accuracy and clear communication of unit status
  • Coordinate schedule, plan, and initially stage materials/kits to vital production areas
  • Identify and communicate production flow constraints; collaborate with Production Control team on solutions
  • Work with Human Resources to determine and maintain staffing levels for production goals
  • Clearly communicate vision and improvement plans to Team Members
  • Guide and mentor supervisors to ensure team is trained, resourced, and managed for strategic objectives
  • Instill positive can-do team atmosphere; hold regular team meetings and coordinate external support services
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify upcoming orders, component requirements, and resolve purchase order/invoicing issues; make decisions and implement solutions internally and externally
  • Report materials status daily on purchasing issues impacting production; drive corrective actions and resolutions
  • Conduct regular safety, lean, and 5S inspections and audits
  • Maintain highest ethical and work standards; promote same in co-workers
  • Ensure attendance at work during assigned hours
