Marketing Research Project Manager (Senior Market Research Professional)

Position Overview

Humana's Corporate Marketing organization is seeking a Marketing Research Project Manager to join the Market Research team. This role is crucial in discovering and illuminating insights into market conditions and customer wants and needs to reduce risks and maximize opportunities for Humana, ultimately improving the health of the people we serve. You will collaborate with marketing partners and lines of business to define learning agendas and key strategic insight needs, ensuring the voice of the customer and other key stakeholders is understood by business teams.

Key Actions & Role Responsibilities

  • Determine key business questions to be answered.
  • Scope the appropriate research audience.
  • Secure research sample (if not using a panel).
  • Select the appropriate vendor from our approved set of research partners.
  • Partner with the vendor to identify the best research methodology.
  • Gain approvals and alignment on research instruments, including legal and compliance.
  • Project manage the vendor throughout the research process.
  • Work in conjunction with the vendor to deliver a final report focused on true insights and direction to the business, after the vendor conducts data analysis and provides an initial report.
  • Present insights to all stakeholders.
  • Potentially assist other researchers on the team in larger, more complex projects and assignments.
  • May be assigned budget management and tracking, as well as other research operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Market Research, Data Analytics, Marketing, Communications, or Business.
  • 5+ years of marketing research experience in both qualitative and quantitative projects.
  • Experience with and understanding of a variety of research methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to proactively address obstacles.
  • Ability to transform data into a compelling story through insights, data visualization, etc.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience communicating complex and functional strategies to senior management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or other graduate degree.
  • Experience in the healthcare and/or health insurance industries.
  • Healthcare, Provider research experience.
  • Medicare/Senior Consumer experience.
  • Experience in market research with low-income consumers.

Remote Work Requirements:

To ensure effective work for Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees:

  • Self-provided internet service must meet recommended criteria: at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed. Wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may be used only if approved by leadership.
  • Employees residing and working from Home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide appropriate telephone equipment for Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees.
  • Employees must work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
