Requirements

  • 8+ years of marketing and commercial experience, preferably in e-commerce fashion, with a proven track record of driving market share growth
  • Experience building and executing successful marketing strategies, especially in Romania and ideally in other markets like Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, or Bulgaria
  • Fluent in Romanian and English; speaking another language from the markets (HU/HR/SI/GR/BU) is a plus
  • Expert on the Romanian market, ideally with experience in Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, or Bulgaria, providing insights into local competitive landscape and market trends
  • Strong experience in planning and executing Regional/Country Marketing Strategy
  • Deep expertise in reaching and engaging users, audiences, and segments through targeted value proposition and marketing strategy, using latest insights and KPIs to drive market share and revenue growth
  • Data-driven and analytical mindset with advanced e-commerce analytics tools understanding
  • Result-oriented mentality, ability to manage different tools and collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Experience in marketing budget management
  • Passionate achiever with strong leadership skills able to guide and mentor team colleagues and drive healthy and inclusive teams
  • Willingness to relocate to Berlin (role is Berlin-based)

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute local annual marketing strategy to meet business and growth objectives in Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, and Bulgaria
  • Provide sharp eye and in-depth understanding of fashion and e-commerce environment, market dynamics, competitive landscape, customer insights, and upcoming trends to inform go-to-market strategy and wider Zalando organization
  • Work closely with Global Marketing Team and cross-functional teams (Retail, Commercial Planning and Pricing, Business Development, PR, Corporate Communications) to define core audiences and tactics, driving efficiency and scaling best practices across the region
  • Collaborate in the development of global Marketing initiatives, planning and executing local campaigns and amplifications based on audience and market insights
  • Manage the regional media budget with the Media Team to maximize investment effectiveness, measure marketing impact, and capitalize on growth opportunities
  • Develop synergies with other Markets, especially within the CEE Cluster, by leveraging initiatives and scaling local activations, best practices, and learnings
  • Bring local voice and market insights to life, drive brand perception, and contribute to business growth
  • Work closely with Global and Go-To-Market Marketing and CEE Markets cross-functional teams to grow market share, customer base, and improve business performance through awareness and consideration driving marketing initiatives (global campaigns, local amplifications, market-specific campaigns)
  • Collaborate with key business units and stakeholders, specifically General Manager and dedicated teams, to drive value proposition and bring market voice to decision table
