Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Employee Relations or 3 years of relevant alternative work experience in employment law. A strong understanding of employment law and practices, particularly concerning the ADA, the interactive process for accommodation requests, and leave of absence requirements, is necessary. Familiarity with company policies, procedures, and state and federal laws, with the ability to apply this knowledge to various situations, is also required.
The Manager, Employee Relations will respond to employee concerns and complaints of potential unlawful behavior by conducting internal investigations, and will prepare recommendations for disciplinary action, including termination. They will ensure compliance with company policies by interpreting and guiding on policy and procedure, and will collaborate with lines of business to evolve site-specific policies. The role involves training partners and clients on policy updates, supporting the performance management process, and assisting with reduction in workforce efforts. Additionally, the manager will engage in the interactive process for accommodations, create centralized and automated processes for ER activities, conduct workplace harassment training, and research and respond to agency claims. They will manage individual cases, address broader issues, determine root causes, develop proactive strategies, cultivate strong client relationships, and manage critical Employee Relations projects.
