Position Overview

Join Vonage and help us innovate cloud communications for businesses worldwide! The Manager, Carrier Management & Relations, will lead the strategy, negotiation, and performance oversight of all global carrier partnerships supporting our UC/CC solutions. This role ensures robust global connectivity, SLA accountability, and long-term vendor optimization to support product growth, quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage global contracts across voice, SMS, SIP trunking, and connectivity services.
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs, SLOs, and contractual obligations from all carriers.
  • Identify and evaluate new global connectivity technologies and providers.
  • Drive high-availability designs with geographic redundancy and failover.
  • Manage procurement and lifecycle of global numbers (DIDs, toll-free, short codes).
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Security, Finance, and Legal.
  • Monitor and report carrier performance; lead issue escalation and resolution.
  • Own budgeting and forecasting for carrier spend, optimizing cost and coverage.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and innovation opportunities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8–12 years of experience in carrier/vendor management roles.
  • Deep knowledge of global telecom, SIP, DID/SMS procurement, and redundancy design.
  • Strong negotiation, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Preferred:

  • Experience in UCaaS/CCaaS, telecom aggregators, or major global enterprise IT.
  • Knowledge of STIR/SHAKEN, A2P SMS compliance, or network architecture.
