Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of maintenance work experience and/or training in an industrial environment
  • Experience maintaining industrial equipment (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes, hydraulic, batch, water systems, pumps)
  • Not removed from a Maintenance Lead position for performance issues (company initiated) or voluntarily stepped down within the last 6 months
  • In current position for 6 months (waivable upon needs of company)
  • No disciplinary write-ups above a verbal level
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
  • Provide safety leadership to promote and create a zero-injury safety culture
  • Solve practical mechanical/process problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Understand and follow verbal, written, or diagram instructions
  • Communicate with shift supervisors and other line support regarding maintenance issues
  • Ensure proper performance of all plant maintenance processes/systems and production equipment using planning, troubleshooting, and diagnostics skills
  • Perform proper preventative maintenance on all plant systems and production equipment to maximize machine uptime
  • Ensure compliance with all maintenance processes and work being performed
  • Assist in determining necessary actions to address quality issues on molds, stones, and production equipment
  • Conduct Huddle Meetings with Maintenance Techs
  • Assign work orders to each maintenance tech
  • Communicate with shift supervisors and all operational support personnel regarding maintenance issues
  • Keep Maintenance leadership informed of maintenance issues
  • Generate Work Orders and close them out in SAP
  • Follow up and report craftsmanship (Good/Bad) to Maintenance Supervisor
  • Provide peer coaching discussions to correct issues
  • Perform at an acceptable level to meet or exceed daily safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure facility meets housekeeping standards
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
