Requirements

High school diploma with 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer, specifically with analytical instrumentation
Proficiency with OES, XRF, and XRD highly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering, or related field preferred
Customer focused with excellent social skills
Technical knowledge of scientific equipment or related technology-based equipment
Ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation
Ability to work independently within a customer location with minimal direct supervision
Ability to travel up to 70% within territory (New Jersey and surrounding regions) or other areas as needed, including nationwide travel
Physical abilities: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions
Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. with assistance on occasion and safely lift and carry 25-30 lbs. continuously throughout the day (able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance)
Tolerance for environmental conditions: loud noises, strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological), various outside weather, some degree of PPE required, standing for full shift
Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Responsibilities

Provide complete services on Spectroscopy instruments, including OES, XRF, and XRD: install, repair, perform preventative maintenance, and qualify instruments
Carry out on-site installation, repair, upkeep, verification, and validation of OES, XRF, and XRD systems
Use customer management software to monitor service calls, parts inventories, and complete job tasks
Inspect malfunctioning products, analyze findings to resolve source of the problem, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective actions
Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service
Develop and conduct training on the safe operation of equipment, demonstrating skills to both team members and customers
Collaborate with other team members, sales, technical support, and engineering
