Requirements

  • High school diploma coupled with 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer, specifically with analytical instrumentation
  • Proficiency with OES, XRF, and XRD is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Customer focused with excellent social skills
  • Technical knowledge of scientific equipment or related technology-based equipment
  • Ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation
  • Ability to work independently within a customer location with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to travel up to 70% at times within the territory or other areas as needed
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Responsibilities

  • Carry out on-site installation, repair, upkeep, verification, and validation of OES, XRF, and XRD systems
  • Use customer management software to monitor service calls, parts inventories, and complete job tasks
  • Inspect malfunctioning products, analyze findings to resolve source of the problem, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective actions
  • Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service
  • Develop and conduct training on the safe operation of equipment, demonstrating skills to both team members and customers
  • Collaborate with other team members, sales, technical support, and engineering
