Candidates should have previous machine operating experience in an industrial setting, extensive knowledge of personal hand tools, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and possess working knowledge of company products and their quality requirements. Candidates must be reliable, have good initiative, and be committed to quality, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
The Machine Operator II will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting equipment to ensure the production of quality parts that meet company standards, consistently loading rolls of plastic onto machinery, setting up new jobs and operating thermoforming machinery, making process adjustments, monitoring product quality, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area. They will also perform all duties as designated by their supervisor/manager to support Sonoco’s quality and safety policies, and assist other departments as needed.
