About the Role
Dandy is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join its growing Automation Team, which is responsible for designing and building automated and mechanized factory equipment. This pivotal role will drive innovation, development, and deployment of automated systems to achieve superior quality standards in the dental sector.
What You'll Do
- Lead the technical, operational, and lifecycle management of various manufacturing automation initiatives.
- Innovate factory processes, concepts, and designs to create ideal automated manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with factory teams to establish and achieve OKRs for automation and continuous improvement.
- Work with factory teams to draft requirements, develop concepts, and envision automated manufacturing processes.
- Create RFQs/RFPs detailing design requirements, delivery schedules, documentation, and acceptance qualifications for automated equipment.
- Engage with vendors to oversee machine construction, ensuring alignment with Dandy's specifications and standards.
- Verify vendor adherence to Dandy's ARS specifications and requirements.
- Approve vendor processes, process flows, and automation equipment designs.
- Design and execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning of automation equipment and lines.
- Lead the integration of new machines into the factory, collaborating with engineers and manufacturing teams for optimal operation.
- Monitor and report on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Yield, and manufacturing metrics (CpK, FMEA, etc.) from automated systems.
- Interpret machine output metrics to drive improvement programs.
- Provide routine status reports to executives and escalate issues as necessary.
- Set ambitious targets and develop plans to achieve them.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in Advanced Manufacturing and high-speed custom automation (Automation Engineering, Process Engineering, Technical Program Management), including translating NPI requirements into large-scale custom automation solutions.
- Strong background in prioritizing tasks for Automation Manufacturing Engineers (AMEs) and Suppliers, from conceptual design through SAT and production team training.
- Experience managing high-budget projects and tracking expenditures with external vendors.
- Proven experience in Value Engineering, contract engagement, managing Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE), and the RFQ to Purchase Order (PO) issuance process.
- Robust technical skills, including problem-solving and root cause analysis in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to manage automation programs with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: leadership, project management, communication, collaboration, influencing, and negotiation.
- In-depth understanding of process and assembly automation, including equipment validation through FAT/SAT (optical inspection, GR&R, OEE, line balancing, and process flow optimization).
- Capability to summarize and articulate technical updates in executive-level presentations, tailoring content to the audience.
- Consistent partnership with cross-functional teams across Dandy, its equipment suppliers, and technical consultants.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 30%.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
