Requirements

Candidates must possess a law degree from a leading university in a common law jurisdiction, with a master's degree in law being a plus. A Malaysian qualified lawyer with 3 to 8 years of post-qualification experience, ideally with a combination of in-house experience in a multinational corporation and private practice at a reputable law firm, is required. Proficiency in spoken and written English and Malay is essential, along with experience in corporate commercial and contract work, risk identification and mitigation, and managing disputes.

Responsibilities

The Legal / Senior Legal Counsel will advise the Company on complex corporate, regulatory, and legal matters while identifying and mitigating legal risks. They will draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts to ensure successful closings, manage external legal counsels, and collaborate with various business units to ensure compliance and minimize legal vulnerabilities. Additionally, they will provide high-quality legal advice, manage due diligence exercises, support training on compliance and regulatory issues, and assist in managing litigation and company secretarial matters.
