Western Digital is seeking a Contract Management professional to provide legal advice and support to Procurement and Engineering organizations. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements. The position reports to the Senior Director, Assistant General Counsel, Contract Management Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing commercial contracts, including:
    • Professional services agreements
    • Purchase agreements
    • Joint development agreements
    • Engineering agreements
    • License agreements
    • Engagement letters
    • Statements of Works
    • Amendments
    • Other business/legal/technology related documents
  • Identifying and advising internal clients on risks associated with commercial transactions and proposing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Working closely with contract managers and administrators within the Contract Management Organization.
  • Supporting various aspects of the contract management process, including playbooks, templates, and efforts to streamline contract operations.
  • Working on special projects with members of Contract Management Organization, as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5-8 years of relevant transactional experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and/or technology agreements.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in a technology company and industry with strong IP/patent knowledge.
