We are pioneering AI-powered customer support solutions to help businesses deliver exceptional customer experiences. As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking a skilled Commercial Lawyer to join our team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the timely and efficient negotiation, redlining, and closing of contracts with our customers.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced commercial lawyer. In this role, you will work closely with our sales and customer success teams to review, negotiate and finalize agreements. Your expertise will help us mitigate risks while ensuring that the terms align with both customer and company needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations and redlining of customer contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies.
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand client requirements and ensure agreements reflect those needs, within tight deadlines.
  • Draft, negotiate and respond to comments from customers and partners with respect to master services, data processing, reseller and evaluation agreements, RFPs and RFIs.
  • Review and revise contractual language to protect the company's interests while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide legal expertise on matters including debt collection, human resources, and corporate affairs.
  • Provide legal guidance on contract terms, including pricing, payment terms, confidentiality clauses, and other legal considerations.
  • Identify potential legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to contract law.

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctor degree from a top U.S. law school or equivalent Degree level education.
  • Admission to practice law in California, New York or other U.S. state where located.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract law at a high growth SaaS or technology company.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, customer agreements, and redlining best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations affecting SaaS agreements.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work and be excited by a challenge!
