World Kinect is a market-leading energy and logistics services provider. We are seeking a commercially aligned attorney to join our diverse and innovative global legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide hands-on and proactive advice to our energy supply and trading businesses.
Reporting Structure
- Reporting To: Managing Counsel
- Team Size: 35+ members across US, UK, South Africa, Costa Rica, and Brazil.

- Remote working with occasional attendance at US offices (typically Miami and Minnesota).
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on all aspects of commodity and energy trading, with a specific focus on US natural gas trading.
- Draft, review, and negotiate physical and non-physical trading agreements, including but not limited to ISDAs, NAESBs, EFETs, and oil trading, transportation, and storage contracts.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance matters, including FERC, CFTC, and other relevant US regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support the resolution of disputes and litigation related to energy trading activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders, risk management, compliance, and finance, to provide comprehensive legal support.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements and Skills
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Admitted to practice law in the United States.
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience. (Candidates outside this PQE range with relevant knowledge, interest, and drive will be considered).
- Training: Training and post-qualification experience at a high-caliber law firm is valued.
- In-house Experience: In-house commercial legal experience at an energy company, oil major, trading house, or shipping, transportation, renewables, or industrial services company is valued but not essential.
- Skills:
