Installation Technician

Position Overview

Flock Safety is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Installation Technician to join our Field Operations team. As the face of our company, you will interact frequently with customers, installing our cutting-edge technology solutions that help eliminate crime and keep communities safe. This role requires a strong work ethic, critical thinking, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Install poles of varying lengths per installation specifications, including digging holes (minimum 8” x 36”).
• Mount solar panels on poles and attach external batteries.
• Affix license-plate reading cameras with PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) technology to poles.
• Work on both public and private roads, often on equipment 10-12’ high.
• Regularly operate a bucket truck and/or ladder to work on equipment up to 30 feet high.
• Repair minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring.
• Provide installation pictures via the Flock field app on a mobile device.
• Perform administrative tasks such as inventory management and receiving product shipments.
• Perform work in a safe and professional manner.
• Meet with customers to discuss installation options and perform site surveys.
• Interpret traffic control plan and permit drawings to identify proper installation locations.

Requirements

• Frequent/continuous bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, driving, and independently lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Prior experience with field work is a plus (e.g., construction, security systems, low voltage wiring, or similar).
• Prior knowledge of operating a bucket truck is a plus.
• Comfortable driving a work van (Ford Transit) and occasionally a 1-ton pickup truck (Ram 3500) or towing a small trailer.
• Prior use of power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.
• Comfortable working on ladders at high heights.
• Handyman-like experience, whether personal or professional.
• Good time-management, organization, and communication skills.
• Desire to work outdoors and comfortable working in all weather conditions and outdoor elements.
• General knowledge of technology and the ability/desire to learn and work with new software/tools.
• Basic knowledge of computer skills, Office Suite, Google Suite, and email.

Required Availability

• Monday - Friday during daylight hours.
• Overtime is expected at times.
