Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience in siting and geotechnical engineering. Familiarity with seismic, geologic, and hydrologic site characterization is required, as well as knowledge of industry codes and standards such as IBC and ASCE.
The Siting and Geotechnical Engineer will coordinate with external consultants and contractors to ensure timely and quality deliverables, define scopes of work, review technical proposals, oversee geotechnical site investigations, develop and manage project timelines, integrate geotechnical considerations into project planning, identify and mitigate safety challenges, track changes in laws and regulations, represent site safety interests, oversee internal project management systems, prepare executive summaries, collaborate with operations and engineering teams, document work using modern tools, develop site investigation strategies, and write technical reports.
