Oklo is seeking a Siting and Geotechnical Engineer to provide expertise, review, assessment, strategy, and contractor management for plant siting projects. This role involves collaboration with the engineering team on design aspects that utilize site and geotechnical investigation results for the building and foundation of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with external geotechnical and seismic design consultants and contractors to ensure timely, quality deliverables.
  • Define scopes of work, review technical proposals, and oversee execution of geotechnical site investigations and documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project timelines and milestones related to geotechnical site characterization and related compliance activities.
  • Ensure integration of geotechnical considerations into broader project planning and decision-making processes.
  • Identify and mitigate safety challenges posed by the site early in project development.
  • Track changes in state and Federal laws and regulations and assess their impact on project development and compliance strategy.
  • Represent site safety interests in cross-functional planning and strategic meetings.
  • Oversee internal site safety project management systems and reporting protocols.
  • Prepare executive-level summaries and briefings for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with our operations team and engineering, procurement, and construction contractor on site preparations.
  • Document work using modern tools and techniques and write well-written, thoughtful, technical reports.
  • Provide siting and geotechnical investigation recommendations, assessment, and management of related contractors.
  • Develop site investigations and site preparations strategies that meet building code requirements and result in cost minimization.
