Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Completion of undergraduate degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical or similar)
  • Competent knowledge of systems, techniques, and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education
  • Competent knowledge and understanding of AS/NZ 3551:2012 and ISO 13485:2016

Responsibilities

  • Performs in-house servicing on a wide variety of medical devices at the S&R Workshop as per AS/NZ 3551:2012
  • Performs maintenance, testing, and calibration of repaired medical devices
  • Performs loan return testing and assists with service loan supply management
  • Diagnoses electrical, mechanical, software, and systems failures using established procedures
  • Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issues
  • Communicates with field-based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair, and may include direct client communication (further queries, quotes, etc.)
  • Performs new product testing as part of the Australian Pre-delivery inspection process
  • Provides technical support in areas such as operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or post-market development using service manuals, work instructions, and defined plans
  • Performs testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems
  • Handles technical data using established formulas and procedures and performs detailed service reports to identify opportunities for improvements to optimize work processes
