Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma with a minimum of 4 years of equivalent experience, and at least 4 years of work experience in human resources or office management. A working knowledge of employment, benefit, and compensation related state and federal regulations is required, along with demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with HRIS, payroll, and time and attendance database software systems is needed, and Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required. Strong organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion. Experience with UFP organization and culture is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources Specialist will serve as a point of contact for employee relations, providing guidance and support to employees and managers, and conducting investigations into complaints such as harassment and discrimination. They will collaborate with HR Business Partners and Legal to ensure compliance, recommend actions based on findings, and support performance management processes. Responsibilities also include analyzing employee relations trends, assisting in the development and delivery of training programs, maintaining accurate documentation, preparing reports, and traveling regularly to plant operations. Additionally, this role assists in employee enrollment meetings and assimilation processes for corporate acquisitions.
