Requirements

Candidates must possess 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on revenue recognition, preferably with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and in-house experience. A CPA license is required, along with deep expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and practical implementation, ideally within the technology sector. Proficiency in accounting systems like NetSuite, advanced Excel, Salesforce, and revenue automation tools is necessary. Strong leadership, organizational, project management, communication, and attention to detail skills are essential, as is a proactive, strategic approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments. Familiarity with SOX requirements and control development is also required.

Responsibilities

The Head of Revenue Accounting will oversee the revenue recognition process, establish scalable processes and systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, FP&A, Rev Ops, Legal, and Engineering. This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all revenue-related financial reporting and operations per ASC 606. Responsibilities include owning the revenue close process, partnering with external auditors, monitoring revenue accounting guidance, and continuously improving/automating revenue accounting processes. The Head of Revenue Accounting will also prepare and review disclosures related to revenue recognition, serve as the internal subject matter expert, and mentor a high-performing revenue accounting team.
