Job Description

The Head of Product Management is a key member of the Automotive Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the President of Experian Automotive. Experian Automotive provides businesses with automotive data intelligence to better understand their markets, manage risk, and market to the right customers.

In this role you will:

  • Champion innovative thinking and synthesize market insights, customer needs, and business objectives to shape product offerings.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including customers, partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle.
  • Optimize products for revenue growth and profitability.
  • Lead and develop the product management team.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Management:

  • Strategy Development: Define and lead the overall product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with growth goals and market needs.
  • Roadmap Ownership: Create, prioritize, and manage the product roadmap, balancing short-term operational needs with long-term strategic goals.
  • Product Lifecycle: Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept to launch, including ideation, market research, design, development, and performance tracking.
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct deep market analysis to identify new opportunities, anticipate trends, and understand competitive positioning.
  • Customer Focus: Drive customer-centric product development by working closely with user experience (UX) teams, gathering feedback, and improving products based on market demands.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with engineering, customer service, operations, data, sales leadership and finance to ensure that product and marketing efforts align with enterprise goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary contact for all product matters at the executive level, communicating progress, challenges, and successes to the Automotive President, and where asked, the CEO and Board of Directors.

Team Development:

  • Organizational Transformation: Build and scale a high-achieving, innovation-driven team focused on delivering market defining solutions that drive substantial, profitable growth.
  • Foster a culture of bold, customer-centric innovation: Ensure the team delivers new product initiatives that represent step-change value propositions aligned with emerging market needs and trends.
  • Disciplined Approach to Product Portfolio Management: Prioritize validated market demand, measurable business impact, and speed-to-market, accelerating the path to scalable, revenue-generating solutions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of executive level product management experience in the Automotive marketplace
  • Deep understanding of the technical and operational aspects of manufacturing and selling vehicles (the ecosystem), thorough grasp of market trends, consumer preferences, competitive dynamics, regulations, and the supply chain.
  • Experience within technology-driven environments, with a technical foundation in product development methodologies & lifecycles.
