Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, have a minimum of 12th grade education completed, and possess a valid Class D Driver’s License. They should also have at least one year of experience driving a vehicle less than 26,001 pounds, with a preference for 3 to 5 years of experience driving a commercial vehicle and working knowledge of vehicle parts and minor repairs. Successful completion of a forklift driver licensing process is required.
The Flat Bed Truck Driver is responsible for safely driving vehicles to deliver goods to customers and operations, picking up material from vendors, and performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections. They must secure loads, verify shipping documents, maintain driving records and logs, conduct preventive maintenance, operate a forklift as needed, and communicate with base or supervisor. Additionally, they are expected to follow all applicable safety, DOT, and company rules, complete paperwork, and participate in safety and training programs.
