Candidates must possess a valid Class A commercial driver’s license and a current 40-hour HAZWOPER Training certification, or the ability to successfully complete the course upon hire. A preferred CDL Hazmat endorsement is also desired. Furthermore, candidates should demonstrate knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and compressor systems, as well as skills in using hand and shop tools and instruments, and the ability to prioritize tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
The HazMat Retail Driver Technician will operate class A or B trucks to pick up customer retail waste from various locations, sorting, packaging, and securing the waste for transport to designated facilities. They will maintain electronic logs and documentation of manifests and work orders, conduct DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections, process hazardous and non-hazardous materials as needed, assist in maintaining facility housekeeping, and function as a technician on lab pack and field service projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and complying with government regulations.
